Coefficient Of Friction

Purpose: This test method is used to determine the static and/or kinetic coefficient of friction (COF) plastic films and other materials. 

Sample: (10) square feet of flat sheet (film to film) -or- (2) square foot of flat sheet (film to steel) or Seven (7) sheets, 2.5 x 2.5 inches (against stainless steel and/or other materials)

Basic Description: A film specimen is attached to moving sled with a stationary plane.  The sled is pulled at a specified speed and length.  The static and kinetic coefficient of friction is calculated.
