Tensile Properties Of Film

Purpose: This test measures the tensile properties (tensile strength, tensile elongation, tensile modulus) of plastic film. 

Sample: One (1) square foot or more of film with less than 0.04 inches thick.

Basic Description: A strip of film (normally 1 inch wide) is placed in the grips and pulled until failure.  Tensile strength and elongation are calculated.
