Charpy Impact

Purpose: This test method is used to determine the Charpy impact resistance of a solid polymer from a pendulum swing.

Basic Description: A notched test specimen is placed into impact machine flatwise.  The pendulum is then released and the energy is recorded.  The Charpy impact strength is calculated.

Limitations: 23 J maximum potential energy
