Tensile Properties of Composite Materials

Purpose: This test measures the tensile properties (tensile strength, tensile elongation, tensile modulus) of plastic composite materials.

Sample: Tensile bars or sheets, 0.125 to 0.500 inches thick

Basic Description: A dog bone shaped tensile bar is placed in the grips and pulled until failure. The tensile strength, elongation, and modulus are calculated.
