ASTM D1525, ISO 306
VICAT Softening Temperature
Purpose: This test method measures the Vicat softening point of a solid polymer material at predetermined stress/load.
Sample: Test bars
Price & Delivery: Contact us for a quote.
Basic Description: The bars are placed under the deflection machine a specified load and ramp rate. The samples are lowered into a silicone bath and tested until the end deflection is occurred. The temperature is recorded.
Limitations:
- Method A50 using a force of 10 N and a heating rate of 50° C/h
- Method B50 using a force of 50 N and a heating rate of 50° C/h
- Method A120 using a force of 10 N and a heating rate of 120° C/h
- Method B120 using a force of 50 N and a heating rate of 120° C/h
