Dielectric Strength, Dielectric Breakdown Voltage

Purpose: This test is used to determine the dielectric strength and dielectric breakdown voltage of insulating materials.

Sample: Flat plaques, 4 x 4 x 0.125 inches or larger

Basic Description: The flat plaque is placed between 2 metal electrodes. AC voltage is applied to the electrodes at a frequency of 60 Hz and the voltage is slowly increased until it burns through the center of the panel.

Test Capacity: We can do this testing up to 90 kV (90000 volts).
