Melt Flow Rate, Melt Volume Flow Rate

Purpose: This test method is used to determine the melt flow/volume flow rate of plastic materials. 

Sample: 50 grams of resin or parts

Basic Description: 5-10 grams of resin is loaded into the machine at a specified temperature and load.  The extruded strand is then collected and the melt flow rate is then calculated.

Limitations: This test is generally used for materials having a melt flow rate of 0.15 and 50 g/10min.
