Purpose: This test method is used to determine the tensile strength and elongation of plastic/polymer materials using microtensile specimens.

Basic Description: The sample is machined into a microtensile dog bone shaped specimens which is gripped on both ends using a tensile tester. The tensile tester pulls on the bar at a constant speed until it breaks. The tensile strength and elongation are then calculated.
